I NEED A RESPONSE ASAP I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA i have an issue my roomate bailed out on the lease, and the landlord allowed the roomate to use her secriuty deposit to cover june rent with out a 30 day notices. She informed me that i can find a new roomate or split the rent with the other roomate. So i found a new roomate, and the land lord says she has to replace the deposit. the lease ends in oct 1 st. Can she make the new roomate drop a deposit for two months of tempory living? even when she agreed with the ex roomate that she can use her part of the deposit for that?...please let me know
