I recently learned that I was signed as a coborrower on a timeshare contract with my mother. I was told that I was going to be a beneficiary for the property. I was only 18. I have now learned that it makes me responsible for the property when my mother doesn't pay. My mother doesn't want to sell but whenever she doesn't have enough money, the timeshare people come barking down my door. She has now lost her job, which leaves us financially responsible. They have threatened many things but I am not actually sure what they are capable of doing. The amount is only about $7,000.00. How do I get out of this. My husband and I have perfect credit but I was scammed by my own mom. What can I do? If I don't pay anything, is it possible for them to come and take our house? I just refuse to pay for this because I didn't want it in the first place. I live in TN but can't find any lawyers that know that Florida timeshare laws. Can anyone help me?
