We just bought a house 2 months ago and have had roof leaks within the first month of ownership. The house was built in 1995. We had it inspected before purchase and was told there was no roof problems but obviously the inspector did not do his job. The second roofing company we hired has told us the whole roof is failing because the sub-roof was not applied properly. (plywood subroof was not staggered and roof tiles were nailed into seams). The previous owner did not disclose roofing problems; the inspector did not do his job; the builder did a poor job of building the house; the city failed its job for passing the roof when it was inspected... My question is, what are my options? My new house is fast becoming a money pit. Thanks in advance for any advice.
