I have been served with a summons for a civil lawsuit in the state of Arizona (in Superior Court). I know I have to respond within twenty days. What I cannot find out is if my response has to be on a specific form and a legal format? The Maricopa Superior Court website does not have these forms or information available. PLEASE HELP!

Answer follows the same format as complaint

If you take the papers captioned COMPLAINT and replace the word with ANSWER you can then respond to each count in the complaint with an answer that is a denial, admission or a statement that you cannot deny or admit. It is best to get an attorney if you have never done this before but if you cannot afford one ask for help from your local reference librarian. In a civil suit the court cannot provide you with an attorney.
