My boyfriend had gotten into a lease with two other people. He was the co-leaser and due to inrecosiable difference he left two months before the lease was up. Note: they were charging him for internet and cable that he was not having access to. They (the other two roommates) also threatened to charge me the girlfriend for spending the night and sent me a text message saying i owed 1/4 the rent.
Now, they are saying that he owes them $800 for utilities for the two months he had left in the lease. Can they really hold him accountable for this money. Considering, there are no paper trails proving that he did or did not ever pay any part of the rent or utilities. My boyfriend paid everything in cash and the other roommates cut the checks to the leasing company etc.
