Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Research For a friend

My friend Jill(age:17) and her friend Jessica(age:18) were in a store. Jessica decides to try and lift a couple items and gets caught,well Jill takes the fall for Jessica. Jessica is a repeat offender and Jill is a first time offender. The crime in the situation is one of petty theft. My question is would Jill face any charges if she confessed to the fact that it wasn't actually her committing the petty theft? If so what charges would she be facing?
