My mom live in florida (a Recourse State) and when my dad died she wanted to live in her house but couldn't affort it. I brought the house under my name so the house doesn't go under forecloser. Although I live in Colorado (non-Recourse state). Both my bothers moved in with her so they can help with the mortgage. Now neither of them are paying and I can't afford my mortgage and the florida one. I'm considering a short sell but the house needs work so I might need to ask for a deed in lieu down the road. In either case could the bank but a lien against my house in Colorado? A litigation company said they can help with the lender and agree on a short sell than move to deed in lieu if that doesn't work. but main concern is if the lien can still happen.
