received a check

I reeived a letter in the mail to become a secret shopper. Along with the letter is a check in my name addresed to me in the amount of $3960. I did not sign up for this program whatsoever, this letter and check just came to me in the postal mail out of the blue. The letter is from Canada and the check is from SMSC GAMING ENTERPRISE MYSTIC LAKE CASINO HOTEL LITTLE SIX CASINO 2400 mystic lane blvd. prior lake, MN 5532. My question is: Would it be legal for me to cash the check and keep the money, since it was just sent to me? I called the number in the letter twice (which is long distance) to try to get more info but the only thing I was able to do was to leave 2 messages, and no one is responding back to me. Iwould appreciate sopme legal advice as to what rights if any I have to the check. Thanks for your time.

Do not cash the check, it is a scam. By cashing, they will recieve some of your account information and you could have lots of banking problemsand other identity theft problems down the line.
