Getting Deposits back

I have a question about auto deposits in the state of Texas. I put a deposit on a vehicle, then decided not to purchase it. I did not sign any paperwork refering to the deposit but recieved a reciept for it. Later I realized that the reciept said that" deposits are non-refundable if approved by a lender". In my case, I was approved by several lenders. Can I still get my deposit back?
