Last year a friend gave me some money as a gift for help in paying a bill. It was approximately $125. This year when the friendship went sour they demanded the money back and I refused. They took me to court and the court found in their favor cause I had no proof it was a gift. The judge suggested that we work it out between us. I have tried and have offered to pay them back the money which is now over $200 but I can't afford it in one lump sum and have offered to pay them back in 2 payments, 1 this month and 1 next month. They won't accept it and have told me that the next step is to the sheriff's office to have my belongings sold. Is this something that they can do?
