Hello,
I'm new to the forums mainly because I can't figure out an answer to my question.
About 5 years ago, I came up with an idea for a new board game and created it myself. I have a working prototype and have played it multiple times. Everyone who has played it with me thought it was very unique and they have never seen anything like it before.

My question is: How can I protect myself from someone "stealing" the concept for the game?

I really want to sell the concept of this game to someone like Mattel. Since the original design was based using a Deck of Uno Cards. Although, a new, unique set of cards could be made in it's place so there is no connection to an existing product.

I just figured I would ask what my first steps should be.
Thanks!

Concepts are not copyrightable.

If you have the game all ready to go, then visit with an intellectual property attorney about protection.
