I bought a new house and after being in it for only 6 months there was a leak from a pipe that was not connected for the air conditioner. A bunch of my stuff was damaged from the leaking water. The builders came out and fixed the damage to the house but said that they would not pay for the damage to my stuff. I was told that I had to use my home owners insurance to make a claim. Is this right?
