Problems with creditor, very old account, Tennessee

Since meeting with the creditor's attorney (when I complied with the subpoena) I have done nothing. They rejected my settlement offer in that meeting. They have never once called or sent a bill or any other kind of contact. Now the sheriffs office is trying to serve me something, but I have not been available. The last "transaction" on this account other than interest and fees that have accrued over the last 9 years would be the judgement they got on the original 1k debt back in 2018 (which was reported charged off on my credit report at that time and long since completely disappeared.)

So, my questions are - Assuming they have filed for a new judgement on the accrued interest - If they can't complete service, what happens? I'm probably never going to pay this unless I win the lottery or something. I get paid daily at the end of my shift so they are NEVER going to be able to garnish or attach anything. Like, ever.

So, what happens if I do nothing (never receiving service) Also, when does the statute of limitations run out?

As a side note: The sheriff rattling my whole house trying to kick down my door at 6 a.m. is very disruptive, but I don't answer the door for unexpected visitors ever.

Avoiding service isn't going to help you. They'll simply apply for (and receive) permission for an alternate method of service. That will leave you at a disadvantage because you won't know what's going on and you won't be able to defend yourself (not that you have any defense...)
