My husband was on probation (for a crime committed in DC) since 2003 and would be done in March 2008. In 2005 He was charged with a federal crime in Virginia and went to federal prison for 2.5 years with good time and was released on December 27th with 3 years probation and a detainer. With the detainer he was taken to the DC jail for violation of his first probation in DC. His hearing is January 7, 2008. Will he get more time? If so, will he serve until March of 2008 when his probation would have been up or can he get more time based on the full probation time not counting his time spent the last 2.5 years in FBOP? Or can he get to come home on January 7th? Please Advice (thank you in advance).

Usually, what they do, is reset the probation. Only a fool would be put on probation! Do your time or beat the case.

Probation is NOT there to help you, but to keep the needle in your arm to suck as much out of you as they can.

Good luck to your husband, he just may need luck at this point.
