How do I go about obtaining records from an expert witness that the public defender hired? I was told that I have to obtain them by court order rather than providing the information to my in my case files.

A: Go to the court clerk and get a subpoena to file in your lawsuit. You will have to serve it on the expert. Be sure to read up on your state and local criminal procedure rule.s
