We live in Michigan. Our property is off a private road. We have to go down this road to get to our house. It is the only way in and out. The man who owns the road is telling people he don't like they can not be on the road. Such as was the case tonight. A neighbor drove down to our house. We have told him he can come visit us any time he wants. When he went to leave the son of the man who owns the road (the son lives at the end of our road) had blocked the road with his truck and would not let the man who came to visit us pass. The son called the Police. The guy had to stay at our house until the police arrived to escort him back down the road. Is this leagal? Can the man who owns the road tell people they can not come down it to see us? Our deed gives us free entrance and exit. There have been other instances of the man who owns the road telling people they can not come down it. He calls Fed-EX every time they deliver to us as well as UPS. He stopped our nephew one day and told him he could not come down the road. My husband is disabled and the nephew was coming to visit and check on his uncle.
