I was just cited for careless driving, and leaving the scene of a crash, while on private property. When asked why I left the scene, I told the officers that I didn't know there was a "scene". I didn't know that I had cliped the door of a street sweeper with my truck. On each citation, the officer wrote next to the address of the scene, "Private Property" in parentheses. Also there is not much information on how to resolve this on said citations. There is no trial date, it mearly just says "to be set", there is no address or contact information for the court, and there is no fines or penelties discribed either. Another part of the problem is that I am from colorado, and just visiting florida. I leave on monday morning and won't be here for the hearing, if there is one. I was wondering the best way to resolve this matter, without losing my license.
