I was recently issued a possession of paraphernalia charge. The info I have gathered tends to say that a possession of paraphernalia charge can usually be handled with deferred adjudication. How can I go about obtaining this? Do I apply somehow, talk to the judge, talk to the prosecuting attorney, or enter a certain plea?

Go to your arraignment and tell them you want a court appointed attorney. Plead not guilty and get an attorney. He/she will take care of it.
