Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Please Read This, Urgent

I am thoroughly perplexed at this point in time. i pled guilty to a misdemeanor of shoplifting in November 2000 and eversince then it has been on my record. it is not even under the first offenders act, why, i do not know, i believe the county was quite biased. i have done some research to the effect that Georgia has no provisions for sealing or expunging records as opposed to other states like Florida, Minnesota and California. I am turning 23 in September this year. The irony about it is that i intend to study law. Coupled with the fact that i cannot get meaningful employment because of people's perception of my past once they see my record, i am fearful that i probably will not even be able to get into law school or get a job within the law. If anyone can help me then i would greatly appreciate it.
