Please read, its about counter suing for an accident

Ok so about 2 months ago my father got in an accident in my neighborhood, he was going about 10 mph(which is the speed limit) & he was blamed for the accident, he told the police that it was his fault & he apologized to the people he had the accident with. He owned up to it. & No, he was not intoxicated or driving fast, as noted earlier that he was going 10 mph. But heres the catch, the people that he hit were just parked in the opposite lane(left lane) & getting out. Which in our neighborhood parking in the left lane is ILLEGAL! One MINOR injury occured, i believe a head injury, she had to spend the night at the hospital & was back at around 7am the next day. They sued our insurance for medical & injury benefits. My dad says we have no case. I think we do. I have seen them every day when i come home from school parked in the same spot, IN THE LEFT LANE! So, do we have a counter sue case?
