i'm a canadian living in the states since i was 12. when i was 18, i was convicted of a drug felony here in the states. now i'm 30, will i automatically get deported if i apply for a greencard renewal? i haven't been in any trouble since then and i'm married to an american.

I would think it highly un-likely that they would even consider deporting you as for one you have been there so long and for two you have only one charge in 18 years.

Take care

yeah...that's what it seems like, but an aggravated felony is supposedly an automatic deportation...so, i'm a little concerned. well...a lot concerned.

Hi,

I am sure with the time scale we are talking you should be fine but if you are that concerned then you should get an immigration lawyer to file your case for you.

Immigration can be funny sometimes but they are normally ok if the petition seems all in order and not being done on the quick, by that i meen the time scale is normally alot shorter than yours.

Take care and good luck.

Mark.
