Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft Plead Guilty w/o signing a Petition of Waiver Rights<ISSUE?

Offense date: April 18th ....On the arraignment day (June 2nd) unfortunately I plead "guilty" on a "theft" charge (shop lift over a 5 to 6 led fishing sinkers a little bigger than a bb pellet gun) with a friend that also took 10 to 11 of them plus 2 more bobber on top of what he took from a candy rack sitting there as he paid other 2 bobber's!

Aside from his case still pending because. of his English language barrier when he plead guilty on the arraignment day itself (they appointed a interpreter on 2nd trial)! 2nd trial last month that according by his translator which he has to go to a theft class this September, and to pay fine 100 fine and yr probation and said "NO NAME ON HIS RECORD" ??? does that sound like charges being dropped or dismissed? although they made him signed at the store the items cost was $7.27 cents of the damaged merchandised. Which they sent a letter "Civil Penalty Released" to pay 50 dollars which he sent check in next day for that amount! Now, i do understand now Civil and Criminal are separately, but does that credit him for being honest but solely responsible for the items that was paid by him?

on arraignment day: A panel attorney was there to advice either to negotiate w/ prosecutor, plea guilty or pub defender (w/c i was confused/scared that day did not know what to do which negotiated with prosecutor, "another idiotic action of mine again"). And sentencing carried on by judge..last thing I heard was from judge "did you know this record will be rest of your life"...I tried to appeal but won't let me! on that very day 10 mins. after sentencing even the panel atty said i have the right to appeal it....I paid fine $100 fine, $214 yr. probation and went to class $60 for theft class...conviction of misdemeanor dropped to petty misdemeanor after my yr. probation, being told that petty misdemeanor is not a big deal is like a speeding ticket..I found out it's not true, even petty theft is theft does not look good for "any-any jobs".

Though, I am currently working with an attorney right now because of a factor's that "I did not signed a - Petition of Waiver Rights" or signed anything on the arraignment day! which she found out herself, the store would not release the incident report to her?....Is that some discrepancy? Issue? I'm really curious on that part. Although my atty. spoke with the prosecutor to have it dismissed with one condition to for me to agree is that in an exchange of doing Sentence To Serve (work within the county) for 80 hours and I guess my atty is trying to set lesser than 10 days but he offered community service (meaning could work outside the county)instead for 10 days? She thinks that is still extensive!!! but no conviction, probation dropped and I believe no refund...i guess that's better than the other alternative! although still having a arrest record but no conviction! Even though job application does ask "have you been arrested".... YES, but dismissed ! Have you been convicted of "crime"....NO! am I right? Unfortunately the money spending for this is for my schooling going the down drained, unless if it ends there w/o further pre-sentencing or trial, but I could still recover/pursue and rather fight it than spending rest of my life dwelling having w/o any job or career because of this mistake!...I am remorseful about this, ashamed & embarrassed!...only thing i have is Faith & Hope!

Thank you if anybody have any response/feedback/input to this..it's been/still a nightmarish for me! .....

Re: Plead Guilty w/o signing a Petition of Waiver Rights<ISS

I am not sure I even understand what your saying. Your all over the place with your story. If you want to know if you have a record ask the court the disposition of your case or have your Attorney look into it
