Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the law is on photo radar in Arizona. If you receive a ticket by mail, do you have to pay it or do you have to be served. I have read lots of peoples opinions and interpretations, but have yet to find any proof that this is true.

In one article there was a reference to a Arizona Supreme Court ruling in 1987 that stated "...Arizona drivers can legally ignore photo radar tickets..." (http://groups.google.com/groups?q=p...UTF-8&selm=32EE3E00.3E2D@motorists.com&rnum=6)

Can anyone provide me with a url to verify this???

Any other information would be gladly appreciated.

Thanks

There is a ruling that you have to be personally served for a photo radar speeding ticket to be valid. The only problem with this is that you would have to file an appeal to get the ticket dismissed. Seems to be more trouble than it is worth.

If you plan on using this tactic you cannot contact the court or appear on your court date. Good luck.
