Hello,
Several years ago I was charged with Petit Theft for items totaling a mere 6 dollars. I hired a lawyer and he was able to get a withheld judgment. I was required to complete an alternative sentencing program and completed the community service successfully. I was also on probation and have successfully completed that as well. I have no prior criminal history.
My question is:
Will this appear on a background check? Do I need to state that I have been convicted of a crime on the form? If so should I defend it in the comments?
I am applying for a federal job with the National Park Service and do not want this to keep me from getting the job.
