My friend is on parole for 8 years in PA. He's been out on parole for 1 year & 3 months. He's never had a dirty urine, missed appointment, arrest etc. He has a great job working for a pool company, his own apartment, car and is engaged to be married with a kid on the way. He recently got into a big argument wit his fiance and got in his car and started driving and wound up at a bar in MD. MD border is 10 mins from his house. Long story short he got drunk for the first time in 10 years was driving home and 2 miles from the bar he got into a car accident and rolled his car. Noone else was involved in the accident and he's the only one who got hurt. He was taken to the hospital and given a blood test which was a .20bac. He was served a citation for a DUI from maryland and is waiting on a court date. Being that its in MD his P.O. In PA hasn't found out about it. If he's found guilty in MD for this DUI and his P.O. Finds out what are possible consequences as far as violating parole, taking into consideration how well he's done on parole up until this isolated incident???? We know Parole violations will consist of at least the following.
1)TPV-out of state without permission
2)TPV-consumption of alcohol while on parole
3)TPV-Police contact/Failure to report police contact
4)DPV-Misdemeanor DUI conviction.

His consequences are he could eventually get revoked and locked up for a few months, maybe a year, maybe the remaining six years of his parole.

He's likely to be assessed some fines, too.

Otherwise, hard to say.

A DUI & a probation violation could involve jail time + possibly other consequences. It is hard for us to say for sure exactly what will happen. If the PO isn't told about this DUI, don't count on him/her not finding out.
