My boyfriend and I just became the latest victims in a parole search. We had just returned home from a trip to town and we got a knock on the door. We had a sherriff and two plain clothed officers at our residence. They instructed us to sit on the couch, and they were here to perform a parole search. We were both arrested and I am a little concerned that a parole officer must be present at the time an officer is coming in on a parole search. We live in the state of California and he has been on parole for 5 years and we have never experienced any kind of surprise parole search without any parole officers present.
