I have been parking in a lot owned by a church, but managed by a parking lot management company. I recently found out that the property -- including the lot -- was sold in May. The new owners say they had no idea the lot was being managed by a third party, and they had no intention of paying someone to do so. Meanwhile I have been charged all this time for parking fees (and still am).
My question: would the contract with the parking company automatically be transferred to and assumed by the new owners, or must the new owners expressly agree to take over the contract? If they don't do that is the contract canceled? I'm in King County, Washington state.
