On 3/1/2010 I leased a new car in NJ. $1000 deposit on credit card. I said I wanted a remote starter. That night when I picked the car up I paid my up front costs of the lease. A separate payment for the remote starter was made as the part had to be ordered. I paid cash. On 3/3/2010 (less than 48 hrs) I stopped by the dealer and told them I no longer wanted the starter as I was not planning to buy the car after the lease was up. (purchase price would be too much) I was told he would have to check with the manager. On 3/19/2010 when I picked up my registration I was told no as they could not cancel the order. It still has to be installed. If it came on the car I would only be paying a portion of its cost instead the whole amount.

You made a contract and you are stuck to it. You performed and they are performing, you can't just back out without their permission. You have to make that decision BEFORE you pulled the trigger and paid for it.
