I received an ordinance violation at a party I attended. I am 18, and we were all given these citations. It says ordinance 12-5-5 offence by minors and its written on a traffic citation paper says i have to appear to set a court date by the 28th of october. what typically happens with this? will i go to jail? get prohbation? and if broke the
law back when i was 16 but never got charged can the bring that up??

If you fail to go to court as instructed you will likely have an arrest warrant issued, and THEN you may go to jail.
If you appear in court and handle business you will have opportunity to try and get the charge dismissed if you can explain why it is not correct. If you are not successful having it dismissed you will likely be ordered to pay a fine.
You aren't looking at probation or anything more serious than a fine unless you fail to appear in court.
