Spouse is charged with "Omitting to provide for a minor child"-'child' in question is now 26, married w/ 2 kids.
Statute of limitations is 3 years in Oklahoma for a felony charge.
The DA has filed this as a criminal felony charge-so it is not coming from the child support enforcement agency.
The DA is asking for 4 years in prison!!

Plead not guilty and ask for a court appointed attorney to represent the accused. The accused should make no statement to anyone about this charge. The accused should avail him/herself of their right to remain silent.

As things progress, avoid any new trouble or crimes. Make sure the accused never misses a court date or disobeys any condition of their pre-trial release.

The accused will probably not end up in prison. In the end, the accused might want to figure out a legal way to begin paying by making a payment plan, or prove they've paid and haven't been given proper credit.
