I would like to know if there is an inexpensive way to locate and get to read the transcript(s) from a 1988 criminal trial/case.

The only information that I have is;

The Year - 1988
The County (Los Angeles)
The Pen. Code, § subd.
Defendent's name (First, Middle, Last)
Disposition

With appreciation

The transcripts are very likely the property of the transcriptionist. You may well have to identify who owns those transcripts and pay for them ... this COULD cost $500 or more.

You can always go to the court house and ask for a copy of the court file. *IF* they have it anywhere (and at 20 years old, it's likely locked in deep storage) they should allow you to view it. Depending on the type of case and the resolution, it may well have been destroyed.
