Corporate Law Not for Profit Corporation Tax Exempt Status

In the State if Illinois does a Not-for-Profit Corp. use the "Amendment of Articles" to make changes to Article 4?

In the statement of the purpose of the corporation I want to delete one of the purposes and leave the remainder intact.

I'm not sure what to tell you. In order to be a not for profit your purpose has to qualify for the state's requirements. The best thing to do would be to call the state's division of corporations. I've done this before and they usually will help you out. They usually do have some legal department on hand too... depending upon the state.
