"No Refunds"...But Bait and Switch?

Went to a liquidation sale at a furniture store in California. Settled on a complete bedroom set, told it would be all new, and delivered to my apartment by Saturday, and that there would be no refunds due to the liquidation.

Two days later (today), I happen to be next door to the store, so I swung by to look at the bedroom set again. Discovered they no longer had one on the floor...because they had packed it up to SHIP TO ME.

I told them I did not want the floor model, and wanted a new one or my money back. They said they could give me some new parts, some floor model...but absolutely no refunds.

I'm so angry with the way I was treated I wouldn't even accept a new bedroom set if they offered it (which they haven't). Can I get my refund somehow?

What happens if I stop payment on the check?
