Never Caught Shoplifting, can I still be detained?

I've previously shoplifted at Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and Free People in Boston, MA. I would take items to the dressing room then walk out. I've never been caught/detained from either of these stores but I'm pretty sure they know I've shoplifted. These three stores are all under one chain so they're connected. I shoplifted from these stores from about late January - April of 2016 and stopped after I was caught at a different store. I learned my lesson, but I was tempted and then started again and stole from Urban Outfitters in the changing room in New York. This occurred in September of 2016 and I once again took things to the changing room. I came to Urban Outfitters a second time, the weekend after I believe, and went the the changing room and put items in my bag, (I had a magnet to remove tags.) I was walking around the store still looking around, and a lady came up to me with a notepad and asked me if I'd left any of their items in the dressing room. I got very nervous and I knew they knew, so I went back to the dressing room, took the items out of my bag, laid them down and left. After that I completely stopped stealing and threw away the magnet I had. I returned to that same store in November with no intentions of stealing. My friend was doing some shopping and I just read one of their books, I wanted to make it very obvious I wasn't trying to steal anything. Since then I've been in an Urban Outfitters in Charlotte, North Carolina with my family and there didn't seem to be a problem. So, I've been to Urban Outfitters many times, and I've never been caught but I think they know that I've stolen. I think they technically have me on video because when I would take things I hid them under clothes and concealed them in my bag, so on video you never saw me clearly put an item in my bag, but if you looked back in their inventory it would probably be missing. They also know who I am because I have an urban outfitters account so they could probably match me up. I'm asking this because I tried to order from their website today but it kept cancelling my order. I called customer service and they said my account was blocked because of fraud. The guy said that he could look into it further and inquire about it. I was afraid they might send me a civil demand and try to arrest me for shoplifting so I told them they didn't have to email me and I just wouldnt order from Urban Outfitters. So, I made another account with my same information and it canceled again. So, I know they have my billing address down and I think that keeps canceling the order. The rest of my family shops at urban and they have the same billing address so I'm afraid they'll find out why we can't order from them. I'm really scared and I don't want to get in trouble I'm 16, and I haven't been shoplifting anymore. What do I do? Can I still get in trouble if they have video evidence of me?

I have completely stopped stealing. I do not do it and I am now repulsed by the idea of it so much that I have completely cut off people that got me into stealing. I'm very aware that this is not something I should do. I could have ruined my entire future. Unless you have some actual legal advice, don't tell me what I already had to learn the hard way.

I am a Retail Theft Consultant and answer questions like yours daily. The statute of limitations on most misdemeanor is one year however multiple thefts (which you have now publicly confessed to naming stores) is a felony. So you need to be worried now for several years. Naming store son public forum was very unwise too
