negligent driving, 2nd degree

I recently fell asleep at the wheel while heading home from work. I was given a traffic infraction for negligent driving, 2nd degree. I was wondering if there is any way that i can get this reduced through mitigation? Similar experiences would be appreciated and any thoughts on deferral
