Hey guys, I have a question. I purchased something online from craigslist, with intent to resell it to make some extra money. When I found a customer to resell it to, it turned out to be undercover officers, and arrested me for "buys or sells stolen property".
My question is, the guy who sold it to me probably called me from a payphone, so the investigators have no way of finding him. No lead whatsoever.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, the item was worth $6,000 and I live in Caliornia
So, being the first time offender, what kind of punishment may I be looking at? How can the court prove that I knew it was stolen, If I don't even know who the guy was?
I have court in 2 days, and I need to know at least anywhere close to what I'll get, so I know in advance. I'm nervous as hell.
