My son is 19, a college student and a good kid with no prior trouble with the law. Last night he was caught by local police in Florida with possession of marijuna and drug paraphernalia. He was giver a court date to appear (next month) and we were all told that he and his friend would be charged with a misdemeanor and fined. Both my son and his buddy admitted to the police that they had drugs (very small amount) and pipes, as they were actually caught smoking in my son's car.
Do we need a lawyer? Will this misdeamor stay on his recored and interfere with future job applications, student loans?
