My daughter and her friend were caught shoplifiting from Macys and the total ammount taken was $76 in her bag. First offense. The officer gave her a city ordinance ticket and didnt take her and her friend into the station. Should she plead guilty in court? What should I expect? Should I get her an attorney? Will this go on her record if shes minor? The officer said he'll put in a good word for her in court because she was cooperative and admitted to what she did wrong. She is a good student and hasnt done anything bad up to now.

If shes already been to court and pled guilty its over theres nothing to do now

She needs to talk to an Attorney. When you and her do this ask about options like diversion to protect her record
