Motor vehicle lemon law

I purchased a used van in June 2007 from a private owner and I had no problems with it until this last saturday, while I was driving it the van burst into flames. Luckily, I got out of the van before it exploded. From what the fireman pointed out, the fire originated in the gas tank. I am so angery and really want to find out just what I can do about used cars that are lemons. I lost my job back in 2006 to foreign trade and currently, I am in school to learn another trade so I am broke but really want to find some help.

Since it is a used car, you likely have no protection. You have had the van for 9 months. Not sure what you are looking for but you are vey likely out of luck since you have had the van for so long.
