Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication MIP questions

I was charged with an MIP (I am 18 years old) a few nights ago and I was wondering what some of the consequences will be. I confessed to drinking one beer. The Officer did not give me a breathalizer test, or any other tests. I asked the officer what some of the consequences will be, and He told me that I could be fined, i'll have to take classes and or do community service. Since this is my first encounter with getting in trouble with the police (other then a speeding ticket back in november), will the judge go somewhat lightly on me? I've heard that I can get my licence taken away for a year but since I only drank one beer, will that happen? thanks.
