Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication MIP..dont know what to expect in court

I live in CA and was given an MIP. I was on the sidewalk when i saw a officer pull up. I proceeded to throw my beer in the trash and walk in the house. He tracked me down said he saw me throw a beer in the trash and then gave me MIP. Im seeking advice on the kind of plead I should give. My birthday is a month away and I am curious if anyone has had their charges dropped because their birthday was soon. I am looking for advice on what I should say and expect in court. Please help I don't want a misdemeanor or be without a license for a year.
