Alcohol & Drugs: MIP, MIC, Intoxication MIP court date

Me and my cousion got an mip a couple weeks ago, i know i was in the wrong but on my ticket he put my court date for Nov.14, 2003. I think he was meaning Nov. 14 2002 i was wandering what i should do and if i could possibly get out of it since the court date is over a year from know.

I'm not sure you will get out of the ticket as technically you do have a court date, albeit in a while. You will likely have to answer eventually since the court will probably find that you are in default and not having shown up for your appearance. You do have a valid defense -- whether it works in your favor is a good question and I'm not sure how to answer. If you do appear in court on that date and it is correct, you will have made an appearance regardless of what date is stated on the ticket and will likely deemed to have made an appearance in court as a matter of law.
