The spouse of an employee called to update me on her husband's condition. He has been battling cancer for some time.
She said "I know he probably won't tell anyone anything, so will you let his supervisor know." His supervisor does need
to know that he will be missing work due to chemo appointments, but do I limit what I tell him to simply that?

Is FMLA involved in this case?

What about HIPPA? I'd leave it as he's missing work; it's excused and not even mention the chemo.

It has nothing to do with HIPAA. At all.

There is no law preventing OP from taking the information to the supervisor.
