Medical debt of deceased spouse

I live in Illinois, and my husband passed away recently. We didn't own anything, and I only received a nominal amount from life insurance I had on him at my job.
I recently received a medical bill from a medical rehab facility that my husband was in after he left the hospital following a fall. He was in the facility for three weeks.
Since I never signed any papers, he signed everything, am I liable for this bill?

The life insurance proceeds you received aren't to pay his debts.
You can use it for anything you wish.
Just make sure you don't put it in a bank account he and you held together.

Medical facilities tend to write off debts by the deceased.

You don't need to respond to any debt collector trying to bully you, or use you sorrow to get you to pay the debt, unless you were a consigner on the debt.

You are t responsible for his debts, but if you are, a court must determine it to be so.

Debtors need to file with his estate to try and get paid.

If he had no estate (to speak of), the debtor is squally out of luck.
