Hi:
Two years ago I brought my car to an independent shop in NY. He kept the car for the two years and then I received a lien notice. I went to the White Plains court and there was no lien filed. The car was auctioned off. The mechanic attached a bill for $45,000 to the lien. I've contacted many NY legal authorities and all say that this is not a criminal matter. I am disabled and cannot afford $15000 for a lawyer. I have lost a total of $40,000. What's wrong with this picture?
