I have relatives who are both NOT US citizen but may give birth to a child in the US soil. And according to my limited knowledge, the child would have the birthright to be a US citizen. My questions are:

Will their nationalities remain unchanged after they had given birth to the child?
If they decided to let their child study in their original country other than America, is it possible to maintain the child's US citizenship?

Both of them have student's visa and are quite busy with their degrees.
They had married before they came to US.

The coming of the child was not planned, and they are under certain stress. Thanks in advance for any helpful legal advices.

The child never has an automatic right to citizenship - it has the right to apply for citizenship (or the parents can do it on the child's behalf. The parent's nationalities will remain unchanged unless they can qualify for citizenship until the residential rule. The child, once an American Citien by birth, will remain a citizen - Citizenship by birth cannot be retracted....
