This is a commercial building in Michigan, being renovated due to fire.
General contractor paid subcontactor for job. (In full.) Subcontractor subbed out the window job forthe building. Subcontractor never paid window contactor, now there is a lien and a lawsuit to foreclose. I can prove subcontractor was paid for windows, just didn't send it to the window contractor.

Window contractor filed his notice of furnishing 6 months after beginning work - (late) but a notice of commencement was never filed by GC.

Any suggestions?
 
Do you have a contract that spells out what the contractor has been already paid for and what his responsibilities are under the contract terms?
