We hired an attorney for a family matter. The attorney over billed or double billed on multiple occasions. The attorney refuses to adjust the bill and to make a payment plan for us to pay the bill. (over $14000) A couple of weeks ago we received a letter from an attorney, not ours, saying this attorney that wasn't ours is suing us for the fees we owe our original attorney.

1. Can another attorney sue us?
2. What can we do to fight the bills and unnecessary charges?

Your original attorney likely turned the bill over to a collection agency (the new attorney).
This is normal.
How long ago was the bill from the original attorney received?
