I am an international student. I am scheduled to go to traffic court on Sept 2, 2009. The problem is that I fail to switch my MD driver license to VA (where I live now) on time.I plan to leave the country for summer break in August for two weeks. Can i come back to the US without any issue with the immigration at the airport? Or should I just stay here? Or should I reschedule my court appointment before my departure. Please give me your advice. Thanks.

I highly recommend that you try and reschedule your appearence explaining the mitigating circumstances. Non appearance for a misdemeanor may escalate the matter and it may become indictable, which could lead to further fines, a criminal record or even imprisonment. Better to be safe than sorry. If there is a fine to pay, it may be worth paying the fine and avoiding the court process altogether.
