I was an employee (not contractor) for a company for 2 years and was recently laid off. They called me into HR to give me the news. I was not allowed to return to my office to collect my personal items. They made me feel like a criminal and a second class citizen. 3 other people were also laid off in my dept and treated the same way. They were with the company 15 years, 20 years and 30 years. Do I have any legal recourse for the way they made me feel in how they handled the layoff? I mean, one day I'm a trusted employee and then the next day I'm not trusted anymore and made to feel like a criminal.

Nothing you have posted gives you any legal recourse. It may or may not be evidence of bad management, but bad management is not illegal.
